is this the new menu food?anyways , stop griping , at least you were able to recognize it as a pie .thats an improvement isnt it?rhonda, usa
Was the soup a bit sour? It doesn't look too bad but that is no doubt down to your considerable skills as a photographer (love the upside-down NHS logo).Yes, the mince looks a bit skanky and full of peas - again! We just had a lovely cottage pie here with fluffy mash on top - creamy with crusty peaks and edges - no shiraz though as husband off the booze for a bit and I am showing solidarity, at least until the first working day of the week when I will probably crack (a bottle to save my sanity).
Is mouth-puckering good or bad? And where is your evening dose of custard?
The soup was very sour. That pie crust was classic. My house is a Grade II listed cottage, that crust would make a great replacement roof tile, no question.
I couldn't take another teaspoon of custard. Sorry!

The soup looks like everything (and everyone) else put through a blender.
So sorry you are going through this. We have been discussing your situation here and son, who is a frequent flyer in the hospital, agrees that your situation is much worse than anything he has faced. Yet! The soup, looks awful! The pie, well, the filling looks like something I have scraped up off the floor on a Friday night in A&E! Sorry! I am assuming supper is Ensure???
Cup of hot milk tonight. Poor man's Ensure.
Oh dear! That is not good. I do hope tomorrow is better.
Your pie does look a little more like a pie but it does not look at all appetising. The grease in it looks revolting. Is that soup developing a skin?
ooh ooh TM, you seem to be higher up in the building, but the cuisine level doesn't seem elevated to me ... I hope the hot milk was able to console you a little bit. I like the attire and especially the caps of the fellows presiding over your attorneys vs bureaucrats post, they look a bit like having stept out of a Dickens novel mixed with Harry Potter, or maybe it is a Victorian whodunit. Do attorneys and British bureaucrats seriously still wear this attire? They remind me of the persons guarding the Queen who are not allowed to smile, in their black towered hats the style of the Simpsons' mother's hair. Then maybe it is no wonder that the hospital's chefs cook the food they serve you in their specific way either?Best wishes from Styria. Barbara
Cat sick pie! (with added peas).
Barbara: lawyers still where all that medieval garb. It's a form of intimidation and a visual prop to justify charging astronomical fees.
Disgusting. Were you kidding about the private patients' menu? Or does that start next week ..Sorry to hear your pin is causing you gip. Bone pain really is the absolute. Not surprised you're sucking down all the analgesia available and it must be hell.Sending you healing vibes. They'll taste better than that ghastly soup for a start :-)
i used to have a cat, and when it vomited it looked exactly like the content of the 'pie' you had. Have you upset anyone who is looking after you - maybe the catering manager! do thye own a cat? better stick to the milky drinks, analgesia and ensure. Makes the beans on toast we had for tea tonight look like a wholesome meal in comparison to your cook kill cuisine. Hope the pin pain eases off soon, enjoy the new view
Ohooo TM I am lost for words. Nice to see your view has improved and good on Mrs. TM bringing you in those yummy prawns, and the yoghurt looked super. P.S. Do you really set the alarm for Mr. Titchmarsh and Real Deal, you are so funny :)
Dear Mary,I'm afraid I do set the alarm for Titchmarsh and Dickinson. I used to think of myself as a bit of am intellectual, settling down with a volume by Wittgenstein. But now my brain has become as soft as my muscles. This is a sure sign of institutionalisation. I watch David Dickinson to see that suntan as much as to learn about antiques.TM x
Tell me those 'veg' accompaniments are lego bricks?Dickinson suntan colour? mix it with that custard and you might have a decent looking meal
I hope the private patients are suing
