Jesus wept

You'll never guess the flavour

It's our old friend Turkey & Ham Pie

Take a closer look if you don't believe me

Anyone for Peach Flan?

27 comments:

  1. The shortest verse in the New Testament.
Is it pea and mint soup? Or Jerusalem artichoke hence the biblical reference?
And what's with the pie, where's the topping or is it on the side?
The flan looks like Australia... no offence mates.

  2. is it brocolli soup, or possibly brussell sprout?

  3. The soup looks as though it might be made from grass-cuttings. As for the turkey and ham pie - there seems to be a distinct shortage of turkey, ham and pastry - all required ingredients, I would have thought.

  4. that yellow stuff in which they seem to drown every dessert looks like the pus that's coming out my horse's hoof abscess ...

  5. cream of asparagus soup? - without the cream and no doubt the asparagus too :-)

  6. When my femur was drained they removed five litres of streptococci infested puss. I suppose these hospitals have to do something with it.

  7. I saw that top stuff in a film in 1973 it was being projected horizontaly from the mouth of an actress called Linda Blair.

  8. I wondered why a priest brought my supper tray into my room this evening.

  9. Because he felt you needed some moral sustenance as physical sustenance was not on offer?

  10. I have a question--why is every dessert swimming in the yellow stuff? What is the yellow stuff "supposed" to be?

  11. Maybe it is diluted spinach soup. Or nettle soup, or wild garlic soup. A nice bright green, at least on the sreen. As for the rest, you have already told us what it would have been supposed to be. Have a nutrient dream, and eat some goodies Ms TM undoubtedly brought in. Bye-bye. Barbara

  12. Oh dear. Jesus had good reason to weep if they fed him this...

  13. The soup was chicken and leek and had the consistency of a thick custard. The lukewarm serving temperature was an interesting touch.

  14. TM,

Noooo .....that puss analogy is just too disgusting !!!!!! HaHaHaHa

It has to be Broccoli soup ...but did you take a bite out of the peach flan ? I can see some fruity bits which may have been vaguely edible ?

  15. The tick boxes at the bottom of each post say 'funny' and 'interesting' -they should add one marked 'pity' because believe me, that is what we are all feeling for you poor souls locked up and forced to eat that stuff.

I live in a city with many students, and believe me I have seen similar looking things to that 'chicken and ham pie' on pavements on a Sunday morning.

  16. The pudding was vaguely edible but you wouldn't choose it if you were in a restaurant.

  17. It's Moon-cycle Soup; green circle, toenail-shadow inching in from bottom right with the promise of further creeping shadow to follow until the entire circle-surface turns an un-appetising corrugated 'dung' hue. I hope you didn't eat it.

Entree is Archipelago Pie; scattered rival islands bobbing in a congealed and polluted sea off the coasts of Spudlandica and Peano.

Pudding is Yorkshire Terrier Surprise; that's the real severed-head of a miniature Yorkshire terrier plunged into a bucket of custardy-'collared' disguise. See its little nose?

Poor you. Still, as you say, you have a contstant stream of virtual visitors via your blog and that must help the days go by.

At least, perhaps thanks to the ghastly food, you've got only one chin to keep up (by the look of your long-distance photo)so don't lose heart and keep the (single) chin and your spirits up.

I note that you can sit up in bed during your traction so at this point I'm going to quote Monty Python: "Luxury! Sheer luxury!...."

I had traction to my spine so my bed was tilted at 'Beginners' slope' gradient, the head-end down while both my legs were Elastoplast-ed from inner to outer thigh legs and weighted from the higher end of the bed. I never progressed from little feeder cups for my drinks and for solid food I had to balance the plastic plate on my pillow, crane my neck and swivel my eyeballs towards my earlobes in an attempt to even see my meal; seeing nothing but the inside of my eye-sockets, I would stab blindly away with my fork at the plate, eventually ending up with a pillow covered with gravey and my hair full of Archipelago Pie.

I wish you well Traction Man and enjoy your blog - it takes me right back!

  19. I'm very impressed with the similarities between the turkey and ham pie and the liver and bacon from earlier today. They just seemed to have chopped it a little smaller. Given that there doesn't seem to be any actual pie in the pie, can you be sure they got them the right way round?

I think the chicken and leek custard is a novel idea, but I probably wouldn't have served it as a starter. Might have worked better with the Terrier.

  20. Just shown the pics to my hubby and teenage sons. They are very grateful that I do not produce such delights for them. My eldest is still amazed at how much better the food he has had in our local hospital!

As for the custard, we agree that the colour is just odd!

I am so glad that Mrs TM visited today. I hope she left some goodies for tonight and tomorrow!

The soup does look like the stuff Linda Blair excreted! LOL!

  22. That soup was never Chicken and Leek - Chuckin and Weep, maybe but not C&L, surely? Pray tell us, what on earth did it taste like? Or didn't you sup as much as the merest spoonful?

  24. A pity He didn't weep over your meal - you could do with a miraculous transformation!

  25. Do you get a phone call after every meal with someone claiming responsibility for each culinary atrocity or do you have to guess who served up each weapon of gastric destruction?

  26. He's not the only one! One look at that soup brought tears to my eyes too.

  27. Having been for a nice blowy walk along the beach this afternoon I would have said that soup was seaweed soup. Is chicken and leek really that colour? Potato and leek soup isn't - least not the way I make it.

PS WV reprett - too much like regret if you ask me!
