  5. I am assuming that is supposed to be lasagne????

Oh boy! What can be said about it? Not a lot I think!

Hope you are feeling less painful today TM!

  6. ok , we are gonna guess that the yellow square thing on your plate today is another version of lasagne, which looks alot better then the last time they served it to you. they really need to lay off the italian food until they have actually had some and knows what it looks like and tastes like before bluffing their way thru a recipe .

i hope your leg is feeling better , as well as the rest of you . hopefully you will be home for xmas .

  8. Crunchy lasagne and pea bullets? You should get yourself a pea shooter. Sorry the nice grub was so short-lived.

  9. Well, Frodo, looks like the Orcs have taken over the kitchen. 3rd degree burns look better than that. This is like that reversal in the second act, when the Hero appears to die or give up all Hope.

  10. My scar looks better than that.

  11. There's a thought. Let's have a gallery of scars. First prize is half a hospital lasagne. Second price will be a whole lasagne.

  12. They were obviously running a bit low on lasagne pasta and replaced it with old insoles. The peas do look a bit like peas, though.

  13. The peas were nothing like the posh ones I had yesterday. They were like green rabbit droppings. Little bullets.

  15. Well done to
    all of the
    nurses and, of course, the
    kitchen staff who attend to
    everyones' needs
    really without exception.

  16. Dear God.

Look I know it's Halloween almost, but I don't think frightening the patients with the food is such a good idea. It looks like a suppurating sore with crusting. ewww

The kitchen staff have nothing to do with the provision of the ordinary meals, apart from sloshing them onto plates (I use the word advisedly ..) You know when someone is being sick suddenly and it all hurtles out and hits the ground with a series of splats - well that's how I imagine it is with, say, crofter's pie. Splat splat splat splat splatter.

  17. I had a nasty ear infection once and I suspect that what they drained out of it has ended up as your dinner.

  18. OMG! It's lasagne!! I think they nuked it a bit too long though! The peas look thirsty...
I always thought that over-cooked food lost all it's nutritional value, is that correct??

Ps hope you're feeling better now :)

  19. Lasagne and peas, who would have thought of such a combination, actually, who does think of these combinations. Does somebody sit behind a desk and think, okay, now what can we put with cardboard lasagne, what will add that extra sparkle, why how about some green peas.

  20. FRed, the kitchen staff are not attending to their needs otherwise they would be cooking nutritious food for all patients. It is a well known fact that the right food speeds recovery and therefore frees up beds.

TM, I hope you get some decent food soon.

  21. Hi Traction Man,

In many of the hospitals in Stockholm, Sweden, Sodexo delivers the food to the wards where the black plastic "plates" are heated in microwave ovens. They serve a lot of peas. Maybe Sodexo is your deliverer as well.

    Get well and get out!

  22. When they delivered this meal did they ask:

    "Trick or Treat ?"

  23. If you glaze your eyes slightly and use some imagination you will see Harpo Marx in this lasagne

  24. What did you do to get busted back to this? Maybe FRed is head chef in the kitchen and has just got back off his hols, discovered what's happened and is wreaking his revenge. On the other hand - maybe it's a picture of FRed's brain.

  25. Oywey oywey, dear TM, may this day bring better food to you!! And tomorrow's birthday as well! Are the morphins still doing their job in subdueing the pains? Best wishes! Barbara (Styria)

  26. Sodexo makes the food but it is served in the hospital by another company. Sodexo owns a factory in south Wales that produces one million meals a week for the NHS!
